Hire a car in USA and Canada. The flexibility and independence of having your own car undoubtedly adds an extra dimension to your ski holiday in the States or Canada, and this year, our choice of free or reduced price car-hire options is wider than ever!
Due to popular demand, we have now extended our Rental Free Car-Hire option with Alamo to most resorts in our North American programme, for all durations. Other operators choose to supply only 'economy' size cars, we now include more spacious 'compact' cars as standard, therefore affording our customers much more comfort. Please see below for what is or is not included. For those who prefer not to drive, most resorts also offer free coach transfers as an alternative - please see transfer grids on individual resort pages for details.
IMPORTANT: In resorts where there is a choice, you must specify at the time of booking whether car-hire or coach transfers are required. If car-hire is not specified and confirmed on your invoice, it will be assumed that car-hire is not wanted, and coach transfers will be provided (unless a property states car hire only in the description like Baker Creek chalets and Emerald Lake Lodge in Lake Louise).

What is Included The term 'Rental Free Car-Hire' in this brochure means free of any vehicle rental charge, so the following items are all included:
· Car rental hire charge for the car appropriate to your party size
· Unlimited mileage
· All weather tyres
· Basic Third Party Insurance liability insurance in USA. This covers $20,000 per accident, $10,000 personal injury and $10,000 property damage. US law does not provide for the mandatory third party liability cover as in the UK.
· CDW in Canada with a state minimum liability of CAN$200,000 and $50,000 in Quebec City.
What is not Included · Extended Protection (EP)
· Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) USA only
· Local sales tax, state tax and airport operation fees
· Fuel.
· Additional Drivers & any Young Driver Fee
· One way drop charges
· Ski rack rental ($5 per day USA/Canada and must be requested at the time of booking).
· Child-seat rental
· Tolls and entrance fees to national parks (i.e. Banff National Park).
Important Information - Driving License All drivers must be aged 21 and bring a full valid driving licence from their country of residence.
Collision Damage Waiver Alamo's CDW protects you from damage to the car (including theft and vandalism) regardless of who is at fault. Without CDW, you (the renter) will be held responsible for up to the full value of the car. The local daily cost is currently US$19.00 plus tax per car but is included in our Fully Inclusive and Alamo Gold packages. If you are not taking CDW, a deposit or credit card imprint will be required.
Top up Third Party Cover - Extended Protection (EP) This provides you with up to $1,000,000 third party liability cover. The local daily cost is US$12.99 per car (not available locally in Canada) but is included in our pre-bookable Fully Inclusive and Alamo Gold packages.
Vouchers, Deposits, Child Seats and Additional Drivers They are supplied with your flight tickets and will need to be produced when collecting your car. A charge of £15 will be made for the reissue of missing vouchers.Your major credit card will be debited for any charges at the time of rental.
Children up to 4 years old are required by law to be transported in approved child seats. These must be requested at the time of booking and will be provided by Alamo at a cost of $5.99 (US&CAN) per day. A refundable deposit is also payable.
For additional drivers, a fee of US$6.99 or CAN$10.00 per day will be charged upon
check-in. This is included with the Alamo Gold Package.
Young Drivers, Fuel, & Local Taxes Drivers under 25 incur an additional Young Driver Surcharge of $25 (US&CAN) per day (payable locally).
A full tank of petrol is provided and for this you will be charged. There is no refund for unused fuel so we recommend returning the car fairly empty. The Alamo Gold Package includes a tank of petrol.
Local fees and taxes are included in our Fully Inclusive and Alamo Gold Packages unless you incur any locally payable supplements like additional drives & child seats.
Prebookable Insurance Options We cannot emphasise enough the importance of having adequate insurance. Without Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) you can be liable for the full cost of replacing the car whilst Extended Protection (EP) increases your Third Party liability insurance to $1,000,000 per accident. These are both included with our Fully Inclusive and Alamo Gold packages and we GUARANTEE that it will save you many on paying locally.
